A Letter From the Creators

For 30 years I’ve wanted to get this book out into the world. Now, I have the happy opportunity to not only do that, but to also create a radio drama of  “The Labyrinth of Melusine” with fabulous audio producer and Wizard of Amazing Sound Effects, Marc Rose. Eventually, we hope to complete the story in a series of episodes available on satellite radio stations. As far as we know, no one out there is doing anything like this. Coterminous with that will be a self-published book, available for purchase or gifting in June. Each is a big project for me but both together is an enormous creative opportunity to see my characters and story come to life. On radio I can only use music, voices, and sound effects, so all that deathless prose I labored over will have to go away as I rewrite the novel as a script. But all of those golden words will be available in book form this summer, just in time for that camping trip or visit to the beach.

Based on a 15th century faerie tale, I have updated the story significantly, introduced a labyrinth, of course, and beings who embody Tarot cards. Did I mention the giant, the evil white boar, and the dragon? These are not Disneyfied faeries. Melusine is a guardian of a magical forest fountain who marries Raymond, a human. She promises him all riches on one condition; that she have Saturdays off. Sounds like a fair trade, right? Their three surviving children, unaware that Mom is a faerie, know there is something different about them and eventually have to come to terms, or not, with their true natures. It is a muscular fantasy of high imagination, thoroughly researched for accurate depiction of the era, probing the dimensions of love, family, courage, humility, forgiveness, and reconciliation.

Please help this creative effort that will benefit local voice talents, at least 3 satellite radio shows, and the furtherance of the art of radio drama. Let us tell you a story. And if you like the idea, please forward the Go Fund Me link to any and all who may be interested in this project.
